Please pray for the estimated 39.5 million people around the globe suffering from HIV/AIDS, and the ongoing outreach by HOPE worldwide to help them.
HOPE worldwide has worked diligently in the fight against the HIV/AIDS pandemic since 1991. Our pioneering community-based programs include HIV/AIDS care, support and prevention for adults and children. Valued partners include governments, NGOs, and individual professionals.
A Personal Story:
HOPE worldwide HIV/AIDS Ganesan came to live at the AIDS Home of HOPE in Chennai, India in June 2006. His life is an example of the devastating impact HIV/AIDS can have on the life of a young boy. His father, a truck driver, contracted the disease and passed it to his mother. Ganesan also became infected.
Following the death of his parents, Ganesan and his younger brother Ieyapam were temporarily in the custody of their uncle, who proved to be unable to care for them. The brothers were separated. Ganesan was brought to the AIDS Home. His brother lives in a government hospital. Ganesan desperately misses his parents and brother but now has a loving home with lots of “brothers and sisters” and receives regular treatments of antiretroviral therapy (ART) that are extending his life.
